Kenya was once among the most stable countries in Africa; in recent years political unrest and outside organizations have been a destabilizing force. Al-Shabaab, an Islamic terrorist organization based in Somalia has begun conducting attacks Kenya with small groups of gunmen crossing the border and many times targeting Christian communities.
In one such attack, a small Christian village in northern Kenya was attacked by Al-Shabaab. Many were killed, houses and their church were burned.
